The International Trade Union Confederation of Asia and Africa believes that the main problem is the lack of attention to all issues related to the economic and social rights of workers and work with trade unions to enhance their capabilities to play a leading role in defending the rights of workers in general, immigrants or locals. The International Federation of Asian and African Trade Unions is working to strengthen the structures Trade unions in the two continents, supporting structures dedicated to women and youth, facilitating cooperation in the region between trade unions, designing strategic plans and proposals on economic and social issues such as social protection, immigration, the informal sector, environmental and climate issues, and working on developing e-learning methods to enhance gains in terms of workers’ rights and seeking help in this with regional unions and community organizations.
