2020-01-23

The President of the International Federation of Asian and African Trade Unions Saud Al-Hujailan confirmed that the establishment of the Federation aims to create a real labor entity that keeps pace with the aspirations of everyone, and we have begun to intensify efforts and communicate with a large number of trade union organizations that credibly defend workers and that do not hesitate for a moment in demanding their rights, to be a united force capable To achieve achievements and gain gains.

This came in his speech during a ceremony on the occasion of the establishment of the federation, which took place in the Kingdom of Morocco in the city of Casablanca last Thursday, in the presence of a large number of member organizations of the federation, and senior union leaders from the continents of Asia and Africa, in addition to the presence of a number of representatives of members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of government agencies and members of the embassy Kuwait in Morocco.

He stressed that we in the International Federation of Asian and African Trade Unions, whose founding conference was held in the Lebanese capital Beirut on October 14, 2019, are working to achieve aspirations and to have laws issued by parliaments, indicating that with the strength of workers and unions, we are able to form a pressure force on governments and parliaments.

He added that union freedom started from Morocco, and we hope that union work will rise again from this good land, pointing out that there are many unions that do not move a finger towards workers and are satisfied with unimplemented decisions that are nothing more than ink on paper, do not fatten or sing from hunger, and therefore We have to think carefully about the party that we have to work with and join under its banner, and they are among the honorable who do not turn away, but are always in the first ranks.

Al-Hejailan added that the union has put within its future agenda to intensify efforts to support member unions to rise again and achieve aspirations, calling for the speedy submission of the draft union work, stressing that we will not allow monopolists, even in Morocco, the country of freedom to manipulate the fate of workers, as there are centralities that do not pay attention to workers, but rather profit from behind them.
